About Us
Established in July 1969, the Office of Resident Commissioner, Government of West Bengal was first housed at Banga Bhawan, 3 Hailey Road, New Delhi. Towards the end of 1969, it was shifted to Jamnagar House, New Delhi, only to be relocated in 1972 to its present address at A/2, State Emporia Buildings, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi 110001. While the office started in 1969 with Liaison Officer (LO) as officer-in-charge the post of Resident Commissioner (RC) was created in 1983.
